The Sound Chapel is a permanent sound installation about 1.5 kilometers west of Cobar in outback New South Wales. The composer Georges Lentz created it, with Glenn Murcutt as architect. It opened on April 2, 2022, after about twenty years of development. The article names no client, cost or visiting details.

A 5-meter concrete cube, cast in place, sits inside a disused water tank of 1901 about 10 meters tall. The cube has an oculus in the ceiling and loudspeakers in its four walls. Steel gates and blue corner windows with art by Cobar artist Sharron Ohlsen complete it.

It plays String Quartet(s), a 43-hour surround-sound work performed by The Noise string quartet. Lentz calls the chapel a digital string quartet and says its proportions relate to the rhythms of the music. The sound runs day and night, and the interior is visible through the gates.
