The Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health at 888 West Bonneville Avenue, Las Vegas, was designed by Frank Gehry of Gehry Partners. Keep Memory Alive owns it and the Cleveland Clinic operates it. Groundbreaking was on February 9, 2007, patient care began on July 13, 2009, and it was completed on May 21, 2010. The article calls it riotously sculptural and gives no style name. Deconstructivism is an assumption based on Gehry's broken, colliding forms.
The building covers about 65,000 square feet (6,000 square meters) on a site in Symphony Park. Opposing sections reference the left-brain and right-brain divide. It holds 13 examination rooms, offices for clinicians and researchers, a Museum of the Mind, a community auditorium and a central atrium.
Keep Memory Alive raised more than $20 million for the project through galas. The cost is estimated at $100 million. This is an outpatient facility, so access is by appointment.
