The City of Culture of Galicia stands on Mount Gaiás in Santiago de Compostela. A group of architects led by Peter Eisenman won a 1999 competition run by the Parliament of Galicia. Construction began in 2001, and the Library and Archive opened in 2011. The article names no style or materials, and describes the design as a stony crust like an archaeological site, with contours meant to look like rolling hills.

The Gaiás Centre Museum is 141 feet (43 m) tall, the largest building. Nearly every window on the facade has a custom shape. John Hejduk's 1992 towers, once planned as greenhouses, were adapted by Eisenman as exhibition space.

Costs rose to more than four times the budget, and construction of the last two buildings stopped in 2012 and ended in March 2013. The article calls it a white elephant. The Fontán Building was inaugurated in 2021. It gives no hours.
