The Cité de la Musique in Paris was designed by Christian de Portzamparc, together with the nearby Conservatoire de Paris. It was inaugurated on December 7, 1995. The article gives no construction dates, style or materials. It names no client, but says the Ministry of Culture oversees it and the State entrusted it with managing the Salle Pleyel.

The complex covers 28,748 square meters at 221 Avenue Jean Jaurès. The concert hall capacity is given as 800 to 1,000 in one passage and 900 to 1,600 in another. A music museum holds about 8,390 items.

The museum collection opened to the public in 1864 and moved to this site in 1997. Salle Pleyel reopened on September 13, 2006. In 2015 the site was renamed Philharmonie 2 when Jean Nouvel's Philharmonie 1 was built nearby. The article gives no hours.
