Cidade das Artes is a music and arts complex in Barra da Tijuca, in the Southwest Zone of Rio de Janeiro. The French architect Christian de Portzamparc designed it, and the article calls the style contemporary. The City of Rio de Janeiro owns it and paid for construction. The article gives no materials.

Construction began in 2003 and ended in 2012. It was first planned to open in 2004 as the Cidade da Música, and it was formally inaugurated in January 2013. The floor area is about 90,000 square meters. The main hall has 1,780 seats, which the article calls the largest modern concert hall in South America.

It is the home of the Brazilian Symphony Orchestra. It also has a chamber music hall, three theaters, 12 rehearsal rooms and a terrace with views over Barra da Tijuca. The cost drew controversy, with the text giving R$515 million against an original budget of R$86 million. The article gives no hours.
