The Church of Saint Anne in Budapest was designed by Kristóf Hamon and Máté Nepauer in an Italian Baroque style chosen in 1740. Construction ran from 1740 to 1762, and most was open for worship by 1746. It was consecrated on August 4, 1805. After an earthquake in 1763, Ádám Kögl and János Hamon partly rebuilt it. The plan is centralized, with an oval dome over an octagonal nave and two bell towers each 180 feet (55 m) tall. A statue of Saint Anne presenting the Virgin Mary stands above the main portal, and an Eye of God surrounded by angels crowns the facade.
In the 1950s authorities planned demolition for new buildings, including a metro stop. A plan to save it was approved in 1954, and restoration ran from 1970 to 1984. It is the parish church of St. Anne. The article gives no hours.
