Jean Bullant designed the gallery, built from 1570 to 1576. The article describes an architectural mixture of late Gothic and early Renaissance. It gives no materials or dimensions. Félix Roguet restored it around 1875, and Bernard Voisin did so in 1951.
Francis I seized the estate in 1535, and Catherine de' Medici forced an exchange for it in 1559. The Menier family acquired it in 1913 and still owns it. It was bombed in 1940 and 1944. About 800,000 people visited in 2007. The article gives no hours or ticket details.
