Château d'Anet near Dreux was designed by Philibert de l'Orme for Diane de Poitiers, mistress of Henry II, on the former estate of her late husband, Louis de Brézé. The infobox gives 1549, but the text says 1547 to 1552 in one place and 1548 to 1552 in another. The chapel is dated 1549 to 1552.
The style is Renaissance, with an Italianate garden and a centralized Greek-cross chapel under a coffered dome. Jacques Mollet designed the parterre, and André Le Nôtre later redesigned the parkland. The earlier Late Gothic manor was brick and stone. The article names no materials for the new building.
Ownership passed to the dukes of Aumale, Vendôme and Penthièvre. Much was demolished or sold during the Revolution, and Comte Adolphe de Caraman restored it from 1840. It became a monument historique in 1889. Films shot there include Thunderball. The article gives no dimensions or hours.
