The Château d'Ancy-le-Franc in Burgundy was built for Antoine III de Clermont and begun in 1544. It is traditionally attributed to Sebastiano Serlio. Pierre Lescot took over after Serlio died in 1554, following his plans, and Francesco Primaticcio designed the interiors. The infobox says 14th century, which conflicts with the 1544 start in the text. The text gives no completion date.
The style is Renaissance with French and Italian influences. The plan is rectangular, with four houses around a square courtyard and projecting pavilions. Tuscan columns mark the main level of the exterior and Doric the upper level, while the courtyard facade uses Corinthian and Composite columns. The walls are Burgundy limestone.
A 12th-century fort stood here before. André Le Nôtre designed the grounds after Le Tellier bought the estate in 1683. The château is a monument historique and is privately owned. The article gives no hours.
