The Center for Architectural Studies is the home of the School of Architecture at Marywood University in Scranton, Pennsylvania. It is an adaptive reuse of the campus's former gymnasium and natatorium, the university's swimming pool. Marywood describes it as a state-of-the-art example of sustainable design.
Inside are two levels of open studios. Wood and metal shops, a digital fabrication lab, a plaster-casting room and a construction materials lab support work on models and prototypes. Printers, plotters and a reference library complete the program.
A two-story commons under a continuous skylight forms the center of the building. Students use it for critiques, discussions and displays of their work. Marywood gives the building's address as 201 Morgan Road, on the Scranton campus.
