The Cathedral Basilica of Saint Louis was designed by Barnett, Haynes & Barnett, with Thomas P. Barnett leading the team, for the Archdiocese of St. Louis. Groundbreaking was on May 1, 1907 and the cornerstone was laid on October 18, 1908. The first Mass was held on October 18, 1914, and it was consecrated on June 29, 1926.

The infobox lists Neo-Byzantine and Romanesque Revival, while the text names no style. The exterior is granite, and the building is 365 feet (111 m) long and 204 feet (62 m) wide. Mosaics installed from 1912 to 1988 use about 41.5 million glass tesserae and cover 83,000 square feet. The text calls them both one of the largest in the Western Hemisphere and the largest collection in the world.

The organ has 96 ranks. The cathedral seats 2,500 on the floor and 5,000 with galleries. It has a basement museum. The article gives no hours.
