The Capitole de Toulouse was designed by Guillaume Cammas for the capitouls, Toulouse's governing magistrates. The infobox and text agree that the building was completed in 1760. The text places the donjon's completion in 1530, while an image list gives 1525 to 1530, and Viollet-le-Duc's design rebuilt the donjon in 1873.

The article calls the style Neoclassical, with pink brick, Corinthian columns and pilasters. The building is 443 feet (135 m) long.

Henri de Montmorency was beheaded in the Henri IV courtyard in 1632, and Jean Calas was broken on the wheel in 1762 after a trial in the donjon. Charles de Gaulle gave a speech from the balcony in 1967. It is the city hall and the heart of Toulouse's municipal administration. The article gives no hours.
