Ca' Foscari on Venice's Grand Canal is credited to Bartolomeo Bon. Doge Francesco Foscari bought the site at auction in 1453 after the Republic of Venice regained it, demolished the earlier Byzantine palace and rebuilt it. The infobox gives 1453 as the opening date. The text says he was disgraced in 1457 and that the palace could hardly have been finished by then, so the completion date is unclear.
The article calls the style Venetian Gothic, specifically Floral Gothic, with pointed arches and carved window heads. The entrance portal is Istrian marble. It gives no dimensions.
King Henry III of France stayed in 1574, Peter I of Russia was secretly housed in 1698 and a fire occurred in 1750. A major restoration ran from 2004 to 2006. It is the main seat of Ca' Foscari University, and halls such as Aula Baratto and Aula Berengo are open to the public.
