The Bundeswehr Military History Museum in the Albertstadt district of Dresden occupies an armory built from 1873 to 1876, which the article calls Neo-Classical. Daniel Libeskind added a transparent silver arrowhead facade, described as an outwardly visible expression of innovation. The museum closed in 1989 and re-opened in October 2011 after six years of extensive construction. The nearest tram stop is Stauffenbergallee, and the original armory closed in 1989.

The building has 14,000 square meters and the indoor and outdoor exhibition area is about 20,000. A viewing platform 29 meters high, across five stories, overlooks the city. The article calls it Germany's largest museum.

The collection includes over 800 vehicles, over 1,000 guns and the ship's bell from SMS Schleswig-Holstein.
