Bosco Verticale in Milan's Porta Nuova district was designed by Boeri Studio, with Stefano Boeri, Gianandrea Barreca and Giovanni La Varra. Hines Italia and COIMA developed it. Construction began in autumn 2009. The infobox gives completion as 2014 and opening as October 17, 2014, while the text says October 10.

The two residential towers carry a living facade of about 94 plant species, including 730 trees and 5,000 shrubs, in planters on balconies. Cladding is gunmetal-gray porcelain stoneware. The infobox gives heights of 381 and 276 feet (116 and 84 m), and a later section gives 110 and 76 m.

Heat pump technology and greywater and groundwater irrigation serve the plants, and the structure is damped against vibration from nearby metro tunnels. The contractor went bankrupt in April 2013, and Colombo Costruzioni replaced it. It won the 2014 International Highrise Award and the CTBUH's 2015 Best Tall Building Worldwide.
