Blue Condominium is a residential building at 105 Norfolk Street on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. Bernard Tschumi designed it with SLCE Architects, for the developers Angelo Consentini and John Carson. It was planned, designed and built in two years and opened in November 2007. The article names no style.
The 16-story tower rises 169 feet (52 m) and holds 32 condominium units, with about 50,000 square feet of residential space and 3,000 of commercial space. The structure is flat-plate cast-in-place concrete with a blue panel and window curtain wall. Floor plates are cantilevered, and the common areas use bamboo and stone. A residents' roof terrace sits on the third floor, and the ground floor housed the Thierry Goldberg Gallery.
The site was a parking lot in 1996, and the building used air rights bought from neighbors. It sparked debate over luxury condo development in the neighborhood.
