The Biblioteca Vasconcelos in Mexico City was designed by Alberto Kalach and Juan Palomar, whose design won. The article names no client. It is named for José Vasconcelos, and President Vicente Fox inaugurated it on May 16, 2006. The infobox and text agree on that date, and no construction dates are given.

The article names no style. It describes a cavernous, hollowed-out interior with suspended, expandable shelves, and it mentions marble blocks in connection with a defect audit. The building covers 409,000 square feet (38,000 square meters) and holds about 600,000 books.

It closed in March 2007 because of construction defects, and auditors found 36 irregularities. It reopened in November 2008 after 22 months of restoration. It is a public library with books, journals, films and Braille books, and it served 1.06 million people in 2010. The article gives no hours.
