The Biblioteca Marciana in Saint Mark's Square, Venice, was designed by Jacopo Sansovino for the Procurators of Saint Mark de supra, and Vincenzo Scamozzi completed the final five bays. The text dates the commission to July 14, 1536. The infobox and text give 1537 to 1588 for construction, though the text says Scamozzi built the balustrade statues between 1588 and 1591.
The infobox calls the style High Renaissance, and the text calls it Venetian Renaissance architecture. It is built of Istrian limestone. The building has two stories and twenty-one bays in its final length. The article gives no other dimensions.
The vault collapsed on December 18, 1545, and the meat market nearby was demolished in 1581. The collection moved to the Zecca in 1904, and the historic rooms reopened as a museum in 1929. The article describes the building as largely a museum and gives no hours or ticket details.
