Berlin Hauptbahnhof at Europaplatz was designed by Meinhard von Gerkan, whose Hamburg firm Gerkan, Marg and Partners won the 1993 competition. Deutsche Bahn commissioned Tishman Speyer Properties to develop it. Construction began in 1998. The infobox gives the opening as May 26, 2006, while the text says full operation began on May 28.

The article names no style for the current building. It has a steel and glass roof and 227,000 cubic meters of concrete. The station is 1,411 feet (430 m) long, and the upper hall is 1,053 feet (321 m) long and up to 52 feet (16 m) high. It has about 474,000 square feet (44,000 m²) of commercial space.

About 1,800 trains call each day. Daily passengers are 300,000 in the infobox and 350,000 in the text. Its predecessor, the Lehrter Bahnhof, opened in 1871 and was demolished in 1957 to 1959. The article says it is open 24/7 and gives no fees.
