The Berlaymont building in Brussels was designed by Lucien De Vestel, with Jean Gilson, André Polak and Jean Polak, and structural engineer Joris Schmidt. The Belgian government built it. The infobox lists the European Commission as owner and S.A. Berlaymont 2000 as landlord. The infobox gives 1963 to 1969. The text says the first wing was completed in February 1967 and that renovation took 13 years, five years longer than the build, which does not match the infobox.

The article calls the style Modernist, with a cruciform plan of four wings. It has a concrete core, steel beams and a glass facade. Floor area is 240,500 square meters. The infobox lists 14 floors, while the text cites 18 levels.

Asbestos was found in 1990, and renovation ran from 1991 to 2004. A fire led to evacuation in May 2009 with no casualties. It is the headquarters of the European Commission. The article gives no visiting details.
