The Beijing Television Cultural Center, or TVCC, was designed by Rem Koolhaas and Ole Scheeren of OMA for China Central Television. Construction began in 2004 and the infobox gives completion as 2009. It opened on May 16, 2012. The article names no style. Deconstructivism is an assumption based on its irregular, sculptural form.
The 34-floor building has a roof height of 159 meters (522 feet). It holds a hotel, a theater and several TV studios. A continuous ground-floor lobby links a 1,500-seat theater, a ballroom, digital cinemas, recording studios and exhibition space. Hotel rooms on both sides form an atrium above the public facilities.
On February 2, 2009, a fire broke out during a CCTV fireworks display for the Lantern Festival. It damaged the nearly finished building and delayed its opening. The article says the center is freely accessible to the public.
