The Barclays Center in Brooklyn was designed by SHoP Architects, with Ellerbe Becket (AECOM) as architect of record, and Frank Gehry produced early concepts that were scaled back. The Brooklyn Arena Local Development Corporation, a public entity, owns it, and Forest City Ratner developed it. Groundbreaking was March 11, 2010 and topping out was January 12, 2012. The infobox gives an opening of September 21, 2012, but the lead says September 28, which was the first event.

The article names no style. It has three articulated bands, a glass curtain wall and about 12,000 preweathered steel panels meant to recall brownstones. A 117 by 56 foot oculus covers the plaza. Capacity is 17,732 for basketball and 20,000 for concerts.

The cost was $1 billion. A renovation of about $150 million was announced in 2024. It has no dedicated parking lot. The article gives no hours.
