The Baluarte Bridge spans a deep valley between Concordia in Sinaloa and Pueblo Nuevo in Durango, Mexico. Mexico's transport ministry, the SCT, awarded the contract, and funding came from Fonadin and Fiduma. Construction began on February 21, 2008. The bridge was inaugurated on January 5, 2012, and it opened to traffic in late 2013.

This cable-stayed bridge is built of prestressed concrete. The total length is 3,688 feet (1,124 meters), and the main span is 1,706 feet (520 meters). It carries four lanes, and the deck sits 1,322 feet (403 meters) above the valley floor.

The article ranks it as the third-highest cable-stayed bridge in the world. It does not name a designer or an architectural style.
