Baitul Mukarram on Topkhana Road in Paltan, Dhaka, was designed by Abdulhusein M. Thariani, whose firm Thariani & Co. was also the contractor. The Government of East Pakistan was the founder, and the funder's name is spelled Abdul Latif Ibrahim Bhawani in the infobox and Bawani in the text. Groundbreaking was on January 27, 1960, and completion was in 1968.

The infobox lists Islamic Architecture and Neo-Islamic, and the text cites Mughal principles and modern features. The mosque is 99 feet (30 m) high and has eight stories, and its site covers 8.3 acres. The article gives no materials.

The infobox gives the year consecrated as 1959, while the text says the first prayers were on January 25, 1963. Management passed to Islamic Foundation Bangladesh in 1975, and a Saudi-funded extension followed in 2008. It is an active mosque under the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
