Autostadt is a Volkswagen theme park beside its Wolfsburg plant, on the north bank of the Mittelland Canal. Henn GmbH designed the complex, and KSS Architects designed the Porsche pavilion. The idea began in 1994, ground was broken in 1998, and the main pavilion opened in May 2000. Volkswagen invested about 850 million Deutsche Mark.

Two glass silos, each 60 meters (197 ft) tall, store new cars, which a 2,297-foot (700 m) tunnel links to the factory. Seven manufacturer pavilions surround them, set among water, vegetation and grass-covered mounds. The Porsche pavilion has a marble roof and an entrance cut into a mound.

Customers can collect new cars here. The park also has cinemas, an off-road track and a children's track with electric Beetles. It draws about 2 million visitors a year. The article gives no hours or general admission.
