The Asian Art Museum in San Francisco occupies a 1917 Beaux-Arts building by George Kelham, originally the main city library. Gae Aulenti led the 2003 renovation and interior work. The City of San Francisco owns the building and its collection. The infobox gives 1966 as established, but the text says that year was the museum's opening at the de Young, not in this building.

The museum reopened here on March 20, 2003. The building has 200,000 square feet (19,000 square meters). The renovation included a seismic upgrade using base isolation. The article names no construction materials or exact construction dates.

A 2016 expansion added a pavilion, a rooftop sculpture garden and an education center. The Akiko Yamazaki and Jerry Yang Pavilion opened in July 2023, and the East West Bank Art Terrace in August 2023. The article gives no hours or admission fees.
