The Art and Architecture Building stands on the University of Michigan's North Campus in Ann Arbor. Swanson Associates of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, designed it in 1974, and Taubman College moved in that year. The original building has 72,000 square feet (6,690 square meters).

The A. Alfred Taubman Wing opened on September 8, 2017. Preston Scott Cohen, Inc. designed the addition and part of the renovation, with Integrated Design Solutions as architect of record. The addition has 36,000 square feet (3,345 square meters), and the combined project cost $28.5 million.

Open stairs and ramps wrap a double-height gathering and event space of 5,700 square feet (530 square meters). The college describes a saw-tooth roof that reflects warm light, and a plaza beneath the wing for outdoor gatherings and exhibitions. The wing gives each student more studio space and adds collaboration rooms.
