The Aronoff Center for Design and Art is the 1996 centerpiece of the University of Cincinnati's College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning. Peter Eisenman designed it with Lorenz & Williams of Cincinnati, who were commissioned in 1988. It cost $35.3 million, well above the first estimate of $20.8 million.
The building has about 140,000 square feet (13,000 square meters) and roughly doubled the size of the college. It ties together three older buildings: Alms Memorial Hall of 1952, designed by James E. Allen, the DAA Addition of 1956, and the Wolfson Center of 1972.
An 800-foot (244-meter) central concourse and an atrium run through the building, which is described as soft blue, pink, grey and green. It holds studios, auditoriums, the college library, a cafeteria, an art supply store, a photography lab and offices.
