Arena Fonte Nova in Salvador, Bahia, was designed by Marc Duwe and Claas Schulitz, part of a group of architects from Brunswick, Germany, chosen through a bidding process. The State of Bahia owns it. Groundbreaking was in 2010, and it opened on April 7, 2013, with President Dilma Rousseff inaugurating it two days earlier. It cost 591 million reais. The article names no architectural style.

The horseshoe plan keeps an opening toward the Dique do Tororó, a nod to the original stadium. A lightweight metal roof with a PTFE membrane covers all seats, and some concrete from the demolished stadium was reused. It was designed as a multipurpose venue.

Part of the roof collapsed on May 27, 2013, after heavy rain. Capacity is 47,902. The article gives no hours or ticket details.
