Alþingishúsið, the Parliament House in Reykjavík, was designed by Ferdinand Meldahl. The article lists the Republic of Iceland as owner but names no separate client. The infobox and text agree on groundbreaking in 1879, construction from 1880 to 1881 and inauguration on July 1, 1881.

The article calls it a classical 19th-century structure of hewn Icelandic dolerite. It gives no dimensions. It first housed the Icelandic National Library and Antiquaries Collection, and later the National Gallery. The University of Iceland used the first floor from 1911 to 1940.

Today it houses the debating chamber, a few small meeting rooms and offices of some senior parliamentary staff. Committee rooms and most of the secretariat are in other buildings around Austurvöllur. The article gives no hours.
