Ainola in Järvenpää, Finland, is the home of composer Jean Sibelius, designed by Lars Sonck. The foundation was laid in autumn 1903, and the family moved in during September 1904. Sibelius's only two requests were a lake view and a green fireplace in the dining room. The article names no style.
The two-story house is wood, and the second floor was completed in 1911. It stands near Lake Tuusula, about 24 miles (38 km) north of Helsinki, with a sauna building and a shed. Running water was not installed until after Sibelius died in 1957, in line with his wishes.
Sibelius and his wife Aino are buried in the garden. The Ainola Foundation was founded in 1972, and the house opened as a museum in June 1974. It is open during the summer season, May to September. The article gives no dimensions.
