The Academy of Fine Arts Vienna's Schillerplatz building was designed by Theophil Hansen. The article names no client, but the academy became the supreme government authority for the arts in 1872 and the building was made for it. It gives no construction start. The building was inaugurated on April 3, 1877, and interior work, including Anselm Feuerbach's ceiling frescoes, continued until 1892.

The article gives no style, materials or dimensions beyond its place in the Ringstraße layout. The infobox dates the academy's founding to 1692, while the text says 1688.

The academy was forced to purge Jewish staff and students during the Anschluss. It was reconstituted in 1955 and gained university status in 1998. It is an art school with six institutes, and its historic collections are open as a study hall and museum. The article gives no hours.
