8 House in Ørestad, Copenhagen was designed by Bjarke Ingels of Bjarke Ingels Group, with partner Thomas Christoffersen in charge. Store Frederikslund Holding, Høpfner A/S and Danish Oil Company A/S commissioned it in 2006. The article gives no construction start or opening date, and names no style. It describes a figure-8 form, squeezed in the middle like a bowtie, with two courtyards.

The sloping, 10-story building has about 61,000 square meters of housing and 10,000 of retail and office space. A ramp and cycle track runs up to the 10th floor, to encourage neighborly contact. A 33-foot (10 m) passage cuts through the center. The article mentions a green roof but no materials.

It was Housing Building of the Year at the 2011 World Architecture Festival and won a 2012 AIA Honor Award. It is the largest private development in Denmark.
