520 West 28th Street in Chelsea, Manhattan, was designed by Zaha Hadid, and Related Companies was the developer. Construction began in 2014 and it was completed in June 2017. The article describes curvilinear geometric motifs as a Zaha Hadid Architects signature and names no style. Parametricism is an assumption based on that fluid geometry. It was her only residential building in New York and one of her last projects.
The building runs along the High Line. It is L-shaped, 11 floors and 135 feet (41 m) tall, with a duplex penthouse set back from the rest. Laser-cut stainless steel trim and Greek natural stone are used, including in the main entrance. Four street-level galleries and a sculpture platform curated by Friends of the High Line sit at the base.
Amenities include a pool, a sculpture garden and a 29-car automated garage.
