101 Collins Street is an office tower in the Melbourne central business district, designed by Denton Corker Marshall. John Burgee designed the foyer late in the project, after a change of developer. It was completed in March 1991. The article names no client, start date or style, and notes only that Burgee was a pioneer of postmodern architecture.
The tower has 57 floors and reaches 260 meters (850 feet) to the antenna spire, or 195 meters (640 feet) to the roof. It offers about 83,000 square meters (893,000 square feet) of rentable space. Floor-to-ceiling height is a generous 2.77 meters (9 feet 1 inch). It has 30 lifts and 414 underground car spaces, and surface-coated tempered glass.
It was the tallest building in Melbourne and Australia from March to August 1991, until 120 Collins Street was completed. It replaced part of the CRA Building, the first skyscraper demolished in the city.
