Joseph Kornhäusel designed the synagogue in the Biedermeier style, built from 1824 to 1826. The infobox also lists Classical Revival. The interior is oval, with a ring of twelve Ionic columns supporting a two-tiered women's gallery and a dome lit by a central lantern. The article gives no dimensions or materials.

Damage was repaired in 1949, and Otto Niedermoser renovated it in 1963. The article gives a restoration from 2025 to a September 2026 reopening. It is an active Orthodox synagogue.
