Trinity Cathedral stands in the Pskov Krom, on the east bank of the Velikaya River, and has been the mother church of the Pskov Eparchy since 1589. The first church was wood, from the 10th century. A stone church followed in 1138, reportedly commissioned by Prince Vsevolod Mstislavich, though the article calls this uncertain. It was rebuilt from 1365 to 1367, directed by Master Kirill.
A fire damaged the cathedral in 1609. The current building was begun in 1691 and consecrated in 1699. The article names no architect or patron for it and does not describe its style or materials. It gives the height as 256 feet.
The cathedral holds the tombs of Vsevolod Mstislavich and Prince Dovmont. It was turned into a museum in the 1930s and reopened as a church during the Nazi occupation.
