Palais Schwarzenberg is a Baroque palace in Vienna's third district. Heinrich Franz Graf von Mansfeld, Prince von Fondi, commissioned it, and he died while it was under construction. Johann Lucas von Hildebrandt made the initial design and started construction in 1697. Johann Bernhard Fischer von Erlach made later alterations.
Prince Adam Franz of Schwarzenberg bought the unfinished property in 1716 and had it completed. The article also says it was finished with alterations in 1728, and it does not make clear who completed the work. A riding school and orangery were added in 1751.
The Schwarzenberg family owns the palace. Parts operated as a five-star hotel until 2006, and it is currently closed for refurbishment.
