San Pantalon is a seventeenth-century church in Venice, and the article names no architect or client. It is best known for its ceiling painting, The Martyrdom and Apotheosis of St Pantalon, painted on canvas by Gian Antonio Fumiani from 1680 to 1704. Critics note that its dramatic view from below marks the entry of Bolognese quadratura painting into Venice.
Fumiani fell to his death from the scaffolding. John Ruskin criticized the painting harshly, calling it a sorrowful lesson. The church also holds a Coronation of the Virgin from 1444 by Antonio Vivarini and Giovanni d'Alemagna, and Veronese's St Pantalon Healing a Boy, which was his last work.
An organ by Gaetano Callido stands in the church. It is a Roman Catholic parish church.
