San Lorenzo Maggiore is a Gothic church in the historic center of Naples. The Franciscans built it in the 13th century on a site given to replace their earlier church, which was lost when Charles I of Anjou built the Maschio Angioino. The article names no architect for the main church.

Cosimo Fanzago designed the Baroque Cacace Chapel and the Chapel of Sant'Antonio, with richly colored inlaid marble. Andrea di Bolgi, from the Bernini studio, made four sculptures in the Cacace Chapel. Boccaccio met Fiammetta here in 1338.

The church and monastery belong to the Conventual Franciscans. A museum occupies three floors above the courtyard. Beneath the church, about half of a Roman market is excavated and open to visitors.
