Alexander Krasovsky designed the original station, which opened on September 1, 1900, for the Ryazano-Uralskaya Railway Company's branch. It was a symmetric brick building 275 feet (83.7 m) long, with a raised center, large windows and an amphora turret. The article gives no style label.

A reconstruction was decided in 1980 and reopened on November 3, 1987, designed by A. Gurkov, S. Kuznetsova and A. Vorontsov. The article says it kept the old station's style. It is six times larger by volume and can serve about 10,000 people an hour. It has three passenger levels, though from the square it appears to have one floor.

The Moscow Railway operates it for suburban and long-distance trains and Aeroexpress service to Domodedovo Airport. The article gives no owner or heritage status.
