The Bembo family built Palazzo Pisani Moretta in the second half of the fifteenth century, and it later became the residence of the Pisani Moretta branch of the Pisani family. The article calls the style Venetian Gothic floral. It has two floors of six-light mullioned windows with ogival arches, similar to those in the loggia of the Doge's Palace, and two central pointed-arch doorways open onto the Grand Canal.
The building reached its current appearance in the eighteenth century. Baroque artists including Tiepolo, Jacopo Guarana, Gaspare Diziani and Giuseppe Angeli decorated the interior rooms. Goethe viewed Veronese's The Family of Darius before Alexander there in 1786.
The Pisani family owned the palace until the branch died out in 1880. Dries van Noten acquired it in May 2025. It hosts the annual masquerade ball Il Ballo del Doge during Carnival.
