Oscar Niemeyer designed the palace for President Juscelino Kubitschek. Construction began on April 3, 1957, and it was inaugurated on June 30, 1958. The article describes the design as based on simplicity and modernity, and gives a height of about 33 feet (10 m). The infobox gives 7,300 m² of floor area and the text 7,000 m², and it counts either three floors or two above ground.
The State Room's main wall is jacarandá-da-baía, and the Entrance Hall has a golden wall inscribed with a phrase by Kubitschek. The dining room was added in 1992. A restoration from 2004 to 2006 replaced the electrical and air conditioning systems, funded by private donations.
It is the official residence of the president of Brazil, owned by the federal government, and listed as a National Historic Heritage Site. The article gives no tour details.
