Khatib and Alami produced the original concept of 74 floors and 504 apartments. National Engineering Bureau modified the design and is described as architect of record. Al Rashideen Trading Company first developed it and transferred the project to Select Group. Construction began on October 18, 2005, topped out on April 10, 2011, and finished on May 8, 2011, though the infobox gives an opening on June 8.

It has 86 floors above ground and 676 apartments. The antenna spire reaches 1,155 feet (352 m), but a 2017 citation gives 1,105 feet. The article states no style or materials.

Fires on February 21, 2015, August 4, 2017 and January 5, 2019 followed. The first charred the cladding from the 50th floor up and left 101 units uninhabitable. Repairs began in May 2015.
