Maria am Gestade in Vienna was built in stages. The choir dates from about 1330 to 1355, the nave began around 1400, and the tower was built from 1419 to 1428. The infobox gives 1414 as the completion date, which conflicts with the tower dates. Michael Knab built the choir and tower, and Peter Prachatitz succeeded him as master builder.
The article calls the style Gothic. It has an open-work tower in Gothic scrollwork, and the church is 213 feet (65 meters) long and 66 feet (20 meters) wide. The nave is slightly bent and narrower than the choir. The pulpit, from 1820, is Gothic Revival.
The church was deconsecrated in 1786 and used as an arsenal and stable in 1809. It was reconsecrated in 1812 and passed to the Redemptorist order, which still leads it.
