The Archcathedral Basilica of St. Stanislaus Kostka was begun when a building committee formed in 1895. Wincenty Teofil Popiel, Bishop of Warsaw, blessed the cornerstone on June 16, 1901, and construction ran until 1912. The infobox credits Emil Zillmann, while the text says the plans came from the firm Wende i Zarske. Zillmann co-led construction, and two Kraków architects, Józef Pius Dziekoński and Sławomir Odrzywolski-Nałęcz, made minor corrections.
The style is Neo-Gothic, built in unplastered brick in the Rohbau manner. The nave is based on Ulm Minster in Germany. The cathedral reaches 343 feet (104.5 m), and the article calls it the tallest building in the city.
It remains an active Roman Catholic archcathedral basilica.
