Křivoklát Castle in the Central Bohemian Region was built in the 12th century under the kings of Bohemia. Otakar II oversaw a large royal castle there. Wenceslaus IV later rebuilt it, and Vladislaus II enlarged it. The article gives no exact years for these phases and names no architect.
Several fires damaged the castle, and it was later used as a harsh prison and slowly deteriorated. The Fürstenberg family reconstructed it in the 19th century after a fire in 1826, and they owned it until 1929.
It is now a museum and tourist destination, with collections of hunting weapons, Gothic paintings and books. It is protected as a national cultural monument. The article gives no architectural style for the building.
