The article says the shrine was first founded in 678. Its formal name is Kamo-wakeikazuchi Shrine, and the article uses both Kamigamo and Kamogamo in the text. The infobox gives the architectural style as Sangensya-Nagare-zukuri.

The worship hall, the haiden, was rebuilt in 1628 and 1629, and it is the only building the article dates. Other structures include the Geheiden, the Hashiden and the Nishimura House, a priest's residence open to the public. The article gives no dimensions, materials or rebuilding cycle.

It is one of the seventeen Historic Monuments of Ancient Kyoto, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The government ranked it as a kanpei-taisha from 1871 to 1946. The Aoi Matsuri is held there each May 15. The article gives no hours or fees.
