Goodison Park opened on August 24, 1892, and the article calls it England's first purpose-built football ground. Everton bought it in 1895. Kelly Brothers built the original stands, and Henry Hartley designed the Goodison Avenue Stand in 1906. Archibald Leitch designed the Goodison Road Stand in 1909, the Bullens Road Stand in 1926 and the Gwladys Street Stand in 1938, which made the ground fully two-tiered.

It has two complete Leitch trusses, and the article says only Goodison, Ibrox and Fratton Park keep them. The first floodlit match came in 1957, with four pylons 185 feet (56 m) tall, and a 1958 undersoil heating system was the first in English football. St Luke's church protrudes into the site near a corner flag.

Capacity is 39,414 in the infobox and 39,572 in the text. Everton's men played their last match there in May 2025, and Everton Women began playing there in September 2025.
