Adnan Saffarini designed the residential tower for the developer Tameer Holdings Investment. It stands in the Dubai Marina district and overlooks Palm Jumeirah. The article names no architecture firm, style, materials or structural system.

Groundbreaking took place on December 10, 2006, and construction began on March 10, 2007. The tower was completed on January 21, 2012 and opened on August 26, 2012.

It rises 1,248 feet (380.5 m) to the roof and has 695 apartments and 12 elevators, with 1.5 million square feet (140,013 m²) of floor area. The infobox and opening text give 87 floors, but the body says "of the 91 floors," and 76 residential floors plus 15 amenity floors also makes 91. The non-residential floors hold parking, pools, spas, a health club, a business center and a gymnasium. It was the third-tallest residential building in the world when completed.
